Last year, San Francisco’s Girls became one of indie rock’s biggest newbies, with a sound that was anything but.
You’ll hear none-too-subtle nods to the Beach Boys, Elvis Costello, T. Rex and My Bloody Valentine on the band’s debut album, Album.
Still, what should really catch your ear at the Sat., Feb. 6, show at Exit/In (2208 Elliston Place, 321-3340) are frontman Christopher Owens’ brilliant pop melodies and compellingly juvenile narratives on tunes such as “Lust For Life” (which, yes, shares its title with an Iggy Pop tune).
The show starts at 9:45 p.m., and tickets are $10 advance; $12 day of show.
